Having family, having a place to stay, getting a normal education, it sounds so usual that some of us may have taken these little things for granted, but for some kids, this may not be basic things they can be provided in their life. About 30,000 children live in orphanages in Japan and they need help for these basic fundamental things. Things that you/I/we were provided in, you also have a chance to be the person who can give it back for those children who need this. In a week, I will be climbing up Mt.Fuji and it's my first time climbing Mt.Fuji with some of my colleagues at Hays. It will be very challenging for me, but I want to make the moment most of it by fundraising money for these children. I need your little help for this and together, we can make a huge difference in someone's life.

Myself and Members of Hays Japan are climbing Mount Fuji to raise money for the charity "You Me We" (www.youmewenpo.org) - an NPO that supports Japanese children in orphanages and Care Homes, then helps them become independent in their adult lives.Personally, I have climbed Fuji before, but this was such a great cause, I wanted to do it again with my colleagues at Hays to help raise money for You Me We! We are a Tokyo-based non-profit organization with more than 10 years of experience building supporting relationships with local children's home (orphanages). Our NPO's primary mission is to help children growing up in institutionalized homes to become fully capable and financially independent young adults as they reach the age of 18 and prepare to leave the home - whether it is off to university, technical school, or to a new job.YouMeWeは、国内の児童養護施設と、10年以上にわたっって協力関係を築いている東京の非営利団体です。私たちは、施設で育った子どもたちが、18歳になったときに、自立に必要な様々な能力を備え、経済的にも自立した大人として、その先の大学・専門学校や、新たな職場へと巣立っていけることを、もっとも大切な使命であると考えています。The 30,000 children living in institutionalized homes across Japan are typically well cared for by a small yet dedicated staff. Ratio of staff members to children can often be as high as 1 adult to 6 kids. Although many of the homes have structured their environments into smaller family units to create a more personal space, it is difficult to offer consistent, individualized attention and guidance as they navigate from primary through high school and begin to consider their future options. Adding to the difficulties are the large number of children dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder stemming from various forms of abuse or poverty that have resulted in the child being placed into care to begin with.. Another issue for kids is the reality of their financial options. Most children will not have the funds to pay for secondary education or have the ability to live with family.日本全体では、およそ3万人の子どもたちが、施設で生活しています。施設では、献身的なスタッフが、子どもたちを大切に育てています。スタッフ一人に対する子どもの人数は、多くても6人程度とされています。多くの施設は、家庭環境のような生活を送れるように作り上げられていますが、小学校から高校まで、そしてその後の人生の選択に至るまで、一貫して個別対応し、道標を示し続けることは容易ではありません。また、子どもたちの多くが、虐待や貧困といった状況から心に傷を負い、心理的外傷ストレス障害(PTSD)と向かいあうことから始めなければならないことも、状況を難しくしています。さらに、多くの子ども達は、中等教育を受けるための資金がなく、家族と生活する能力を凝っていないことも問題とされています。These are some of the contributing factors that can lead to a lack of success for kids becoming productive and independent young adults in the community. By providing continual educational and guidance-based support programs, we believe we can help improve their overall chances to attend a secondary education institution or secure a decent job. This success translates to a more positive future - one with more choices and freedom.子どもたちが、コミュニティにおける、生産的で自立した青年へを成長していく過程を阻むいくつかの要因があります。私たちは、継続的・教育的かつ、子どもたちに様々なガイダンスを提供できるような、サポートプログラムを提供することが、施設で育った子どもたちが中等教育を受け、職を得るために効果的であると考えています。このようにして得られた成功体験は、子どもたちに、より多岐にわたる人生の選択肢と自由を伴う、明るい未来をもたらすことができるのです。
