Fundraising for:
Breast Cancer Foundation

Since the beginning of 2017, many people whom I know directly or indirectly have been diagnosed with cancers.  My children lost both their grandmothers within a month earlier this year.   My mother lost her battle with breast cancer and my mother-in-law to colon cancer.  Both were detected only at stage 4.  Raising funds for Breast Cancer Foundation will support their campaign in creating awareness on the importance of annual breast screening and regular self examination.   Breast cancer when detected at early stage can be treated.  Breast cancer survivors can continue to live a quality life with their loved ones.  Thank you for your support in advance.thank

Breast Cancer Foundation

Our small clique of fellow sports lovers who engage in running, triathlon, kayaking, rock climbing, martial arts and and mountain trekking are raising funds for Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) through our participation in JustRunLah's latest running event, The Performance Series (TPS).Becoming and keeping fit through sports is cool and all, but wouldn't it be better if what we do can at the same time help others who need our support? With that in mind, we decided to hop onto the SimplyGiving.com platform, and contribute our little part to the efforts of charitable causes. BCF is the main charity that we have chosen to support, with other charities that will be added to our list as we move along.Breast cancer has become one of the top causes of cancer deaths in Singapore for women (small tip - men can get it too. About 1 in 400 diagnosed cases of breast cancer are in men!). Many women from lower income brackets, or who were not equipped with the necessary awareness and knowledge, shun or simply cannot afford to get a mammogram despite being in the recommended age group (40 and above) for regular breast screening so as to detect symptoms of breast cancer at the early stages.BCF has a BEAM15 (BCF Encouragement for Active Mammograms - the 15 represents the scheme being launched on BCF's 15th anniversary) scheme that heavily subsidises the mammogram procedure for lower income earners. Help us to spread the message of awareness to everyone and to empower more women to be able to afford the much needed screenings.Early detection saves lives and saves breasts! Please lend us your support and be a change-maker for the less privileged in doing so!
