We will be taking part in the Paris Marathon on 6th April 2014 and aiming to raise money for National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia. We are: Dr Rafidah Abdullah Dr Imelda Balchin Dr Mohd Yani Bahari The three of us would like to promote healthy lifestyle for disease prevention in Malaysia. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is common, almost 1 in 8 of the general population. The main cause of End Stage Kidney Disease is Diabetes Mellitus (58%) in Malaysia. We have many patients who remain on dialysis for a long time with complications; since our transplant donation rate is very poor. More than 18,000 patients are on kidney transplant wait list.
