Within this half year, she was started with chemotherapy every 2 weekly. Unfortunately, her condition is unstable causing Doctor to withhold her chemotherapy. She routinely travels to the hospital for treatment and it all depends on her condition whether or not she is fit for chemotherapy on the admission day. Due to she is unable to sustain her daily living, Locks of Hope Association would like to call for help from the public. Above patient, Yong Siew Kee, 50 years old, is a Mechanic (Self employed – unable to manage due to cancer). In March 2016, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer and has done partial gastrectomy. After partial gastrectomy, he is unable to tolerate solid food as normal people. He is solely depending on enteral feeding (milk powder and nutritional products). Unfortunately, in October 2016, endoscopy was done and the report has shown tumour recurrence. Patient is already unable to work and is taken cared by his relative rotationally. I have just completed the first cycle of chemotherapy last week. Doctor told me that I would need to undergo a total of 6 cycles of chemotherapy. Doctor also informed that I need to rest for a few months after completion of chemotherapy. Hereby, I hope that through Locks of Hope I can raise funds for my living expenses as well as transportation fees. Therefore, doctor started me on radiotherapy. At the same time, I was informed that my spine was also infected by cancer cells causing it to degenerate. In August 2016, my spine has given up on me and I am paralysed. Doctor told me that my body is very weak, unsure whether my body could continue with radiotherapy or chemotherapy. I already can’t support my own living. I hope that through Locks of Hope will help me to share to the public to donate for my living expenses and also medication cost. The patient is depending on 2 of her daughter (part time job) for living expenses. She don’t medical fee support at all. Because of that her body is getting weaker each day. In 2015, after the mother has surgery on her breast (which is sponsored by a company), she can’t afford the medical treatment and she give up on it. Currently the single mother’s disease has spread to Lymphoma. Because she can’t afford medical treatment, she can only get a Buddha charity organization to provide her traditional herbs to release toxic. But this will not cure her at all. There were a lot of charity organization that contacted the patient, but she rejected all of them. This is because a lot of the organization wants commission from the fund raised. One the patient’s friend introduce about us, in the end she request our help,  we Locks of Hope Association do not accept any commission, that’s why we hope that thru the public we can give a helping hand to this poor single mother, pray that she can get well soon. He was diagnosed with a RARE cancer which only has the incidence rate of 3 in 500,000 population. In July 2013, he was diagnosed with Peritoneal Mesothelioma and has undergone series of chemotherapy. He was performing good and well until September 2014. Peritoneal Mesothelioma once again stroke him as he was admitted to the hospital due to upper abdominal pain. Diagnosis was RECURRENT PERITONEAL MESOTHELIOMA. Due to the rare incidence in Malaysia, his doctor suggested for him to go to India for treatment. He went for treatment in India using his medical card. Once again, he completed his treatment in India and was back to follow-up in Malaysia but his medical card has already exceeded the limit. Unfortunately, in January 2016, he was admitted to hospital again with sign and symptoms of pulmonary edema. As told by the doctor, this condition is suggestive of RECURRENT PERITONEAL MESOTHELIOMA. Currently, he is admitted in hospital in KL for treatment of pulmonary edema. He is unemployed for 2 months because inconvenience due to carrying a urine bag. He is aware of his economy status and he requested Locks of Hope to recommend him a government hospital to continue his treatment. He can only transfer to fully government hospital once his pulmonary edema condition is stable.  He has applied for social welfare but this could not cover all the medical fees as well as the living expenses.
