I run HandsOn Hong Kong, an NGO mobilizing and empowering our community to address pressing social need in Hong Kong through volunteer services. 5 December is the UN’s International Volunteer Day. Today, we not only celebrate volunteerism, but also pay special tribute to all volunteers who are making a difference to the lives of those in need in their local communities and beyond. Christmas is approaching, and as usual I prefer not to receive gifts.
