As I am turning 21 this year, I wish to do something meaningful by making a difference through raising money for a cause close to my heart, assisting children-in-need in Malaysia. Birthdays are celebrated every year, presents are gifted every occasion, but children's fundamental needs are not met. Please support me by donating.

My Story

Acknowledging my privilege as a young adult who has had the opportunity to live a happy life with a comfortable environment, my wants being met more than some children's basic needs, I have seen first-hand, how sub-optimal living conditions, e.g. unclean water, insufficient food, lack of access to quality education resources, have precluded many of the talented children from thriving as they should in rural areas.

With this cause in mind, I'd like to encourage my friends and family, on behalf of my 20th birthday, donate to UNICEF Malaysia and support this fundraiser in whatever way you are able to. UNICEF Malaysia is doing extraordinary work for children, with four key pillars: protection from violence, learning, survive and thrive as well as a fair chance. Their mission and work aligns with my values and I believe the funds channeled to UNICEF Malaysia's work will be fully utilised to assist every children in need.

Occasion:
My 20th Birthday Fundraiser for Children In-Need

Why Support this Fundraiser:

Children are suffering, and rather than splurging on an expensive gift for me, I'd much rather the funds go to a much more pivotal cause - maybe 100 more children can celebrate their birthdays with the funds donated.

How to Support this Fundraiser:
  • Donate on this page (all funds will be directly channeled to UNICEF Malaysia)
  • Share the fundraising page on your social media, to your friends and family

Together with the Malaysian government and others who are truly passionate about child rights, UNICEF works in Malaysia to ensure every child has the opportunity to grow healthy and happy; live safely; and achieve their full potential. o do this, UNICEF Malaysia undertakes:
  • Research to make every child visible,
  • Advocacy work for child friendly policy change,
  • Capacity-building of the government and partners to provide quality services to every child,
  • Public communication campaigns to change mindsets and perceptions.
