My Story

UN Women and Bangladeshi Police in Cox’s Bazar organized a training for police staff on reporting cases of gender-based violence (GBV); collecting forensic evidence & survivor-centered investigation, from 22 to 24 April 2019. On 25 April 2019, another session was held - with police commanders, officers, first responders & local stakeholders – on how to efficiently address & resolve GBV cases in the camps & host communities. The training is a part of our current efforts to facilitate gender-responsive policing in Cox’s Bazar to contribute towards improved security & law enforcement in the ongoing crisis, in partnership with the government & legal actors.
Fatiha Yesmin, DC CMP, Bangladesh Police Women Network (BPWN) & ABM Masud Hossain, Superintendent of Bangladesh Police, Cox’s Bazar, both participated as facilitators and guests in the training, which was led by Jane Townsley, Executive Director of International Women Police Association.

This #WomensMonth, we invite you to support our fundraising campaign and make a difference!
