Sarawak Children's Cancer Society

The Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) was founded in 1999, by a group of parents of children with cancer, who came together to discover ways they could support one another. SCCS is a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the needs of families of patients diagnosed with paediatric cancer and was formally registered under the Society Act in November of 2001. SCCS recognizes the complexity of the paediatric cancer experience, and understands that childhood illness affects every aspect of the lives of patients, siblings, and caregivers. As such, SCCS provides holistic support to families by addressing financial, logistical, medical, social, spiritual, and emotional needs. SCCS also offers palliative care services and bereavement support.  Along with direct patient and family support, SCCS promotes public awareness of paediatric cancers through fundraisers and educational campaigns. Since its inception, the Society has supported more than 1,500 families throughout Sarawak.

Our Aim

To provide relief and care of Malaysian children suffering from cancer and their families irrespective of race, religion, and creed; and the advancement of research and public education in the prevention, control, diagnosis, and treatment of childhood cancer.
