The Edge Education Foundation is the philanthropic arm of The Edge Media Group. The foundation’s mission is to foster, develop and promote education of all kinds.
Starting from 2014, it is narrowing its programme focus to two specific areas: promoting English and financial literacy. Currently, the foundation runs two programmes: (1) Programme for After Class Enrichment (PACE), a tuition-cum-mentoring programme at 2 schools in the Sentul area in Kuala Lumpur for academically low-performing students from low-income homes; and (2) a reading and activity-based programme to improve English literacy for some 40 disadvantaged students at a school in Kg Pandan, also in KL.
Half of all funds raised from The Kuala Lumpur Rat Race this year will go towards selected beneficiaries such as charitable organisations for their education and/or training projects and programmes. The remaining half will go towards The Edge Education Foundation's two programmes to promote financial literacy and improve the standard of English.
