My Story

Hi, thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page. On 25th January I am going to be pushing myself to the limit, running the Hong Kong Marathon. While I have done a few of these in the past, with the onset of old age (42) and assorted ailments, this time it will be a greater challenge than ever before. I have set myself a target time of 4 hours 2 minutes. A big motivation for my run is that I’d like to support the work of Viva. I really like the approach Viva takes with helping vulnerable children as it seeks to inspire lasting change in their lives through the power of collective action. By encouraging and forming networks of churches and community organizations already involved with helping the children, Viva’s reach goes further and is more sustainable in bringing real, lasting change to situations of these children. Using this platform is really simple and, most importantly, it's also a really cost efficient way for the charity to raise funds. So, in order to push this 42-year-old to transport himself 42 kilometers on foot in less than 4 hours and 2 minutes, I am asking for your sponsorship towards a fundraising target of HKD42,000 (USD5,000).
