About Event

Hi, I am Sumithra V. Ananthan, Executive Director of Voices of the Children (VoC) a non- governmental organisation in Malaysia. VoC strives to protect and address rights concerning children so that they will grow in an environment which will nurture their spirits and enhance their development. As a lawyer, a mother, wife and owner of "Dreamcakes", I feel strongly about the protection of our children's rights. If you feel just as strongly as I do that every child has rights, that every child’s welfare needs to be protected, that the root to all issues children face needs to be addressed, then here is your chance to do your part in helping VoC achieve its goals. To raise funds for VoC, I will be taking part in the PJ Half Marathon on Sunday, 6th September 2015.

This will be my inaugural attempt at a 21km run but it will be a challenge that I will take head on. I had previously completed two 10km runs in 2014 and reached the pinnacle of Mount Kinabalu in October 2014. This 21km run however will be different and more meaningful as I hope to help VoC champion for children's rights and I can only do so with your support and encouragement.
