Slow and steady might not win the race, but it will help a lot more people learn to swim.  We believe in equal opportunity for all in Hong Kong to learn a skill that is life saving and provides a purpose to some of the most marginalised members of our community.

For the third year in a row, Team Sleigh is swimming for Splash.  We sadly won't have Bob at the helm this year due to work commitments but I am confident we can beat our family record (no pressure, girls!)  Splash provides swim lessons to communities - currently migrant workers and low income kids - who either don't have access or financial resources for swim lessons.  In just 4 years, we have taught over 1,600 people how to swim and be water safe.  This has been accomplished through a growing community of swimmers and professional coaches who believe that knowing how to swim is important and everyone should have the chance to learn. More importantly, Splash is a home away from home for the domestic workers in Hong Kong who do so much to support our lifestyles. Providing opportunities to learn new skills and connect with others is such an easy way to give a little bit of support back to them. Thank you for supporting us.

We hope we can live up to the team’s name :-). We are 4 Societe Generale employees of varying nationalities and from different departments. We train and suffer almost every Wednesday together in Swim staff club. Through taking part in other swimming events, we got to know the Hong-Kong swimming community. We were impressed by the positive energy of the Splash foundation and its tremendous beneficial impact on under-resourced communities. We are proud to join this Splash relay charity event. Please support us by donating!

swimming is not only a [sometimes] fun sport but it is also a needed life skill many helpers do not have money to pay for swimming lessons that's why splash is  helping helpers to learn how to swim. Why you ask? imagine you have hired a helper to look after your kid but then then the helper takes your kid to a swimming pool with an off duty lifeguard then child drowns in the pool the helper than cannot do anything because he\her doesn't now how to swim the child does not even have to be deep to drown he\her can drown because of shallow water blackout. That is why i ask you to donate to splash :)

Chlorine Is Our Perfume and Water Is Our Soul.  We are two teams of enthusiastic Kellett School students and are passionate about swimming.  We realise how incredibly lucky we are to have benefitted from swimming lessons and coaching from an early age.  Not everyone is that fortunate.  Splash is close to our hearts as we have Aunties that have been able to make the most of the connection that Kellett School has with Splash.  We also have many teachers, friends and family members who spend their free time coaching for Splash, helping it to grow and reach its 2020 target. Please support us by donating!  We are two groups therefore we need to raise a minimum of HKD10,000.

As swammers (definition: former competitive swimmers) and recreational fitness swimmers, we often take for granted how special it is that we know how to swim.  We remember the hours spent complaining about swim practice and lamenting the cold water, when in reality, many people are clamoring at the opportunity to learn.Splash launched its first class of 20 participants in 2015.  Now, it's an organization where Splash shirts are seen everywhere on Sundays and Kyra can't go outside without being recognized by all the "Aunties."  The face of swimming in Hong Kong has changed drastically due to Splash.  Go to any public pool or beach, and you'll see Splashers practicing every weekend.  Nearly every open water swimming event includes Splash competitors and is staffed with Splash volunteers. Numbers aside, the best part of the program is witnessing individual swimmers overcome their fears, embrace facing challenges head on, and learn that with diligent practice, a person can accomplish anything.  This year, all members of our household will be competing on our family Splash Dash Relay.  Our helper Jen learned to swim with Splash starting in April 2018.  She is now diligently training for her first swimming competition.  Unfortunately for her, the rest of her team is Not Fast, Just Furious.  Only Kyra in the inflatable speedboat can save the day.

We are colleagues and all passionate about finance but outside work we are passionate about swimming - whether in open water around Hong Kong's beaches and beyond, in chlorinated waters or when doing triathlons. We support the Splash Foundation, who organise swimming lessons for people in Hong Kong who don’t normally have access to or the means to pay for such lessons. Splash removes the fear that many have about water and replaces it with knowledge and skill. They make communities safer because they teach people how to be water safe. But it goes much beyond that... Learning to swim builds confidence at any age and helps people discover their capabilities and potential. It is also good for the body and mind and promotes well-being and improved self-esteem. It also creates a welcoming and supportive environment for marginalised communities. Splash brings people together, building bonds and giving participants a sense of belonging. http://www.splashfoundation.org/en/take-the-plunge We will swim on 31st March during their annual Splash and Dash fundraising event. Support us by donating or coming to support on the day!

Since its first class of 30 swimmers at Hong Kong International School in 2015, Splash has grown into a bonafide swim program serving some of Hong Kong’s most important, but under-served communities: foreign domestic workers, unprivileged youth, and refugee/migrant families. Now located in multiple pool sites on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories, Splash provides free swim lessons to not only brand-new beginner swimmers, but to graduates of our beginner program whom are keen to become lifelong fitness – and even competitive – swimmers.  The Splash Dash Relay concept became a reality in 2017, when 33 of our graduates stepped up to compete in their first-ever swimming pool competition. Many of them had just learned to dive weeks before the relay event, but all successfully competed with their teams. They brought a new level of enthusiasm, energy, and excitement that MADE the inaugural Splash Dash Relay such an amazing event for the other swimmers, volunteers, and spectators. Their success – not just as competent swimmers, but as thoughtful leaders and advocates for their communities – is one of Splash’s greatest achievements and is a true testament to Splash’s impact in Hong Kong. These Splash Dash Relay veterans continue to dedicate the majority of their free time back to Splash as trainee coaches, pool-site admin teams, and event organizers. Along with the rest of our volunteer coaches, Splash truly could not operate without their help.   The race entry fees for these 6 teams has already been raised (HK$30,000), but these swimmers will be pushing to raise more money for Splash among their friends, colleagues, and families. Whether it is HK$20 or $100, every bit counts towards being able to provide ONE more Splasher the opportunity to be a confident, strong, and successful role model both in and out of the water.  Calling all current Splashers, Splash Graduates, future Splashers, Splash Coaches, and Splash supporters!  PLEASE SUPPORT OUR #TeamSplash RELAY TEAMS. They represent everything we hope each new Splasher will get a chance to become.
